Valley of Flowers

The   world   famous Valley of Flowers is situated in the upper expansions of Bhyundar Ganga in the far interior of Garhwal Himalayas. Spread over an area of 87.5 sq. kms., the valley is at an altitude of is 3250 m to 6750 m above mean sea level. Many a legend are associated with this vibrant and eye catching Valley, and are often in the epics of the Ramayana and Mahabharat. At the entrance of the Valley stands the snow-clad peak of Ratban Parvat, towards the left is Nar Parvat, which separates the Badrinath valley from this valley, and to the right is dense Birch forest on the hillsides.

Below the forest are meadows and the River Pushpavati flows through the valley and there are many waterfalls enhancing the beauty of the valley. The bloom starts immediately after the melting of snow but the peak blooming period is from mid July to mid August. Almost 300 species of wild flowers bloom here unhindered by mankind. The prominent species are Braham Kamal, Anemone, Geranium, Marsh marigold, Prinula, Lilium, Potentilla, Ranunculus, Inula, Corydalis, Pedicularis, Arisaema, Ligularia, Morina, Impatiens, Saxifrages Bistorta, Anaphalis, Sibbaldia. The myriad shades of the valley have attracted lots of travellers through the years. The park is also home to the Asiatic Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Musk deer, Red fox, Blue sheep and a wide variety of birds.

•    Day 1: Dehradun to Karnaprayag | Drive: 200 km; 7 hrs. Overnight stay in     River     facing rooms. Attend Aarti in the evening. Property: Hotel     Krishna Palace or similar.
•    Day 2: Drive from Karnaprayag to Govindghat (6300 feet) and trek to Ghangharia (9600 feet) | Drive: 4 hrs; Trek: 9 km; 5-6 hrs Property: Hotel Devlok or similar.
•    Day 3: Trek from Ghangharia to Valley of flowers (11500 feet) and back to Ghangharia | Trek: 7 km; 6 hrs Property: Hotel Devlok or similar.
•    Day 4: Trek from Ghangharia to Hemkund Sahib (14200 feet) and back to     Ghangharia | Trek: 12 km; 8-9 hrs Property: Hotel Devlok or similar.
•    Day 5: Trek from Ghangharia to Govindghat and drive to Badrinath. Return back to Joshimath for a night stay. Visit to Badrinath is subject to weather and road conditions Property: Hotel Dhanesh or similar.

Weather Details  
 
The season for this trek is June to September. In the initial days of the season there will be snow on the higher reaches which generally melts by mid June. Post June 15 it could rain anytime and for any duration. In the higher mountains it normally drizzles and doesn’t pour the way it does in the plains. You will have a lot of mist. Day temperatures could fall down to 10 - 15 deg. There is possibility of sunny days also and in this case your day temperatures could go up to 20 - 23 deg. Evenings and nights are going to be moderately cold with temperatures around 6 – 14 degree. 
Please keep in mind that the above information is not exact and does not account for sudden changes. Whatever the temperatures and conditions rest assured we will be prepared to handle it with ease as we use equipment of very high specifications.     
 
List Of Essentials: Photo ID proof, five/six pairs of clothes, good quality hiking shoes, waterproof rucksack, Heavy woollens: sweater, Jacket, gloves, woolen cap, woolen socks, raincoat, thermals, 2 waterproof tracksuit/trousers, bath towel, napkin, 4 pairs of cotton socks, slippers/floaters, water bag (not plastic bottle), torch (with extra batteries), cap, sunglasses, day pack, sanitary requisites: Bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.
 
All the items: Carry your stuff in a duffel bag, soft shoulder bag or a rucksack. Avoid suitcases, trolleys or any other hard luggage. As you will be walking long distances carrying a rucksack, avoid bringing unnecessary items on the trek. Please avoid carrying expensive watches, jewellery and electronic items on the trip.
 
Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 7500/- to confirm your booking. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Cheques, NEFT/RTGS should be in favour of ANALA OUTDOORS PVT.LTD., payable at Ahmedabad only.
 
Medical Facilities: First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergences would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility.

  • We will pick up the participant on the first day of Trek from Dehradun and drop them on the last day of Trek at  Dehradun.

Rates:

  • Rs. 14175/-  per person | Ex Dehradun Railway Station.
  • Rs. 24500/- per person | Ex Ahmedabad in 3AC Train with food enroute and hotel stay at Delhi/Haridwar.

  • Stay on twin sharing rooms with attached washrooms. Hot water will be arranged in Ghangharia every evening.
  • Nutritious vegetarian meals will be served. Breakfast and dinner will be served hot, while lunch will always be a packed lunch.
  • Transport support from Dehradun to Dehradun. Pick up time: 06:00 AM Prince Chowk, near Railway Station / ISBT.
  • Guide and support staff: Experienced, trained, and supportive guides.
  • Forest permit for Indian travellers.
  • Visit to Badrinath (Subject to road and weather conditions).

Exclusions:

  • Transport for reaching Dehradun from hometown.
  • Permit for drones in Valley of flowers - Additional cost
  • Personal expenses like tips, personal medicines, phone calls etc.
  • Any transport support during the trek apart from what is included above.
  • Any cost arising due to unforeseen incidents like bad weather, roadblock, landslide, medical evacuation etc.
  • Arrangements of lodging and boarding, if the participant quits or reschedules the trek in between.
  • Accommodation in Dehradun. Personal luggage with mass not exceeding 12 kg per bag per person can be carried by porters/mules at INR 300 per trekking day per bag.

Cancellation charges will be as follows:

  • Minimum: 10%
  • between 45 to 30 Days: 25%
  • between 30 to 15 Days: 50%
  • Last 15 Days: No refund

Cancellation charges will be applicable on total programme cost.

Please Note: Written cancellation will be accepted on working days (only). Any cancellation sent on a Sunday or any National Holiday(s), will be considered on the next official working day.In the event of any cancellation(s) after trip commencement, there will be no refunds and any costs incurred due to this cancellation will be borne by you. Irrespective of when a trip is booked, the above condition will hold true.

Day 02: Arrive Haridwar and shift to Hotel. Night stay at Haridwar or Rishikesh.

Day 03: Depart for Joshimath | Drive: 290 km; 10 to 11 hrs. Overnight stay in Joshimath. Property: Hotel Dhanesh or similar.

  • Please note that if we do not get direct tickets from Ahmedabad to Haridwar we may go via Delhi.





 

Reporting: Participants have to report at Dehradun on the first day at given time and will be dropped back to Dehradun on the last day of the Trek.

Food: Wholesome & Hygienic vegetarian Food will be served, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Special Jain / Swaminarayan food is also served at the campsite if mentioned in the application form.

Please Note: If due to bad weather, sickness, natural calamity or any other personal reasons, the itinerary is changed on ground the extra charges arising due to it will be borne by the guests. same will be applicable if a guest decide to change the itinerary due to personal reason. Also if days are cut short on the trek/trips for any of the above reasons we will not be liable to make hotel arrangements at the base or any other location for the guests.

  • Guest will be required to fill up an indemnity form before embarking on the trek/trip
  • We request you to kindly disclose/share information if suffering from any major ailment and submit your health Certificate.
  • In case of trips/treks with a backup day, where this backup day is not utilised for whatever reasons, we will not be liable to make hotel or any other arrangements
  • On our fixed group departures, please note that we will follow a fixed schedule & standardised services. In case of individual requirements other than what is offered as part of the package, we might not be able to entertain them so please be aware of this fact.

Optional Charges:
Charges for a porters/mules to carry personal bag throughout the trek (not more than 12 kgs) per person for the complete trek. If you want us to arrange for portage of your personal luggage you can book the same by selecting the option of Personal Luggage Charges.

Transport Options (DELHI – DEHRADUN – DELHI)

For travel to Dehradun and back one can choose between air, rail & road. For air travel, the closest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport (at Dehradun) and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Air India, Indigo & Spice Jet. Train travel is highly recommended with enough options being there. For train details, you could log on to www.indianrail.gov.in and for online railway ticket bookings you could log on to www.irctc.co.in
There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Dehradun that cost about Rs. 200-500 per person. These buses depart from Delhi ISBT every 30 mins. or so and take about 7 hrs to cover the distance. The same is also applicable on the return journey. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.

Group size?
Anala Outdoors has a strict policy on Responsible Travel and keeping this in mind we do only small groups on any of our treks(max 15 to 20 people). This also means extra safety & personal attention for our guests.

Drinking water?
Natural mineral water is present all over the trail. You have to carry water bottles.

Medical emergencies?
In case of any emergency one of our guides along with the porters and support staff will carry/accompany the guest back to the starting point of the trek from where he/she will be driven to the near hospital for treatment. We carry first aid arrangements and basic medicines with us on the trek.

Fitness level?
Good physical fitness as well as mental fitness is required for the Valley of Flowers.
 
Type of Footwear?
Although we recommend a high quality waterproof hiking shoes with good grips under them.

  • Cheques, RTGS/ NEFT should be drawn in favour of ‘ANALA OUTDOORS PVT. LTD.’
  • Outstation cheques shall not be accepted.
  • Payment against dishonoured cheque/s shall have to be paid in cash with additional charge of Rs.200/- per cheque.
  • The balance payment is to be paid atleast 30 days before the departure of the batch. If the balance payment is not made on time, it would automatically be considered cancelled without any prior intimation and no refund would be given in this regard.
  • Camp may be cancelled if there is not enough strength, actual amount paid by the participant towards the camp will be refunded by A/c payee cheque only. No other claims will be entertained.
  • No refund shall be given if the participant terminates the camp at any point due to any reason.
  • Anala outdoors reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a participant on camp in event of unreasonable behavior at any time and no refund will be given in this regard.
  • The amount paid once is not-transferable to any other programme or to any other person.
  • Jain food may be served on specific request, subject to availability.
  • In case the camp duration is extended due to unforeseen circumstances, each participant will have to pay Rs. 2000/-per head, per day to the group leader.
  • It shall be the participant's responsibility to collect the necessary travel documents from our office on time.
  • The organisers or any individual connected with the camp shall not be held responsible in case of any accident or any unforeseen natural calamity.
  • In any case of injury or severe illness where upon the participant has to be admitted to the hospital or sent back by flight or any other means of transport, then those charges shall be entirely borne by the participant .
  • Organisers will not be responsible towards any internal disputes arising with fellow participants.
  • We are not bound to provide name address or any other personal details of other participants.
  • The organisers shall not be held responsible for loss/theft of the participant’s luggage and belongings.
  • Anala outdoors has the right to use the participant's name, information and photographs in promotional materials, brochures and press releases.
