HIMALAYAN SAFARI – SPITI VALLEY
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
By 3AC Regular Coach
Day 01: Depart from Sabarmati (BG) for Chandigarh in the morning by train in a 3 AC Regular Coach.
Day 02: Arrive in Chandigarh in the morning and proceed to Shimla by AC vehicle. Check in to your hotel and unwind in the refreshing mountain air. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 03: Shimla to Sangla (2621 MTS) via NARKANDA | Immerse in the Enchanting Beauty of The Himalayas: (230 km / 8 – 9 HRS):
After breakfast, check out and start your scenic journey to Sangla. Drive through the dense forests of Narkanda and along the Sutlej River, soaking in the unending beauty of Kinnaur Valley. En route, admire the massive hydro project at Karcham Dam.Arrive in Sangla by evening and enjoy the serene river valley of Baspa at an altitude of 9,000 ft. Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 04: Sangla to Chitkul | Welcome to The Last Inhabited Village at the Indo-Tibetan Border (3 HOURS /40 KM) Hrs:
After breakfast, explore the local attractions including the ancient Kamru Fort and the temple dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya Devi, believed to have been brought from Assam.
Post-lunch, proceed for an excursion to Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the old Indo-Tibetan trade route. Walk through apple orchards and along crystal-clear streams. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Baspa Valley (3,450 m): One of the most picturesque valleys in the Himalayas, rich in Kinnauri culture and apple orchards. It was opened to tourists only in 1993 due to its proximity to the Tibetan border.
Day 05: Sangla to Kalpa | Marvel at the Majestic Kinnaur Kailash Mountain: 50Kms – 2Hrs
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kalpa, the district headquarters of Kinnaur. Once a favourite retreat of Lord Dalhousie during the British era, Kalpa is known for its timeless charm.
After lunch, relax and later visit Suicide Point and Roghi Village—known for their dramatic landscapes.
Spend the night in Kalpa, enjoying the spectacular views of the Kinnaur Kailash range. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Kalpa (2,960 m): Formerly known as Chini, Kalpa has changed little over the last 500 years. Every corner of the village faces the breathtaking Jorkanden and Kinnaur Kailash peaks, including a 79-ft natural Shivling formation that changes colour with the daylight.
Day 06: Kalpa -> Nako->Tabo: (6-7 HOURS/150 KM.)
After breakfast, depart for Tabo via the Indo-Tibet Highway. Drive past the dramatic Khab Bridge, marking the confluence of the Spiti and Sutlej Rivers. En route, visit the peaceful village of Nako, known for its lake, Buddhist temples, and the footprints of Guru Padmasambhava. Continue the journey with a stop at Gue Village, home to a 500-year-old naturally preserved mummy of a Tibetan monk. Arrive in Tabo by evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Nako is a mesmerising and picturesque village that is full of eye capturing surroundings and is the most significant village situated in the Kinnaur district of the Himachal Pradesh. The village also offers the visitors with multiple sightseeing options such as the famous Nako Lake, Buddhist Temples and Rakham amongst others. Near the lake, one can also find the footprints of the saint Padmasambhava, who is believed to have meditated at the spot for many years.
Day 07: Tabo to Kaza | Explore the 'Ajanta of the Himalayas' at Tabo: 50Kms-2Hrs
After breakfast, visit the renowned Tabo Monastery, often called the Ajanta of the Himalayas, the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist enclave in India. Explore the ancient caves near Tabo before proceeding to Dhankar to visit the dramatic cliff-side Dhankar Monastery. Continue to Kaza and check in upon arrival. Dinner and overnight stay.
Tabo:(3,280mts/10,760ft): Tabo is famous for the Tabo Monastery which is known as “AJANTA OF THE HIMALAYAS”. Tabo Monastery which is the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas.Tabo Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries located in the Tabo Village of Spiti Valley. In fact, it is the oldest monastery in India and the Himalayas that has been functioning continuously since its inception. This alluring monastery is renowned as the 'Ajanta of the Himalayas’.
Day 08: Sightseeing Around Kaza | Walk the Artistically Painted Rooms at Key Monastery
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day excursion covering the following highlights of Spiti Valley and return to Kaza in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Key Monastery (13,668ft/4,166mts): The learning centre of Buddhism. Housing ancient murals and weapons. Begin the tour by visiting the Key Monastery having an ancient collection of murals and weapons.
Chicham Bridge(13596ft/4145Mts): Kibber Village and Chicham Village are linked by Asia’s highest bridge called Chicham Bridge. The 113.83-metre-long bridge is located above the Samba Lamba Nallah, a 1000 ft deep gorge. It connects the villages of Kibber and Losar, helping reduce the journey between them by around 40 km.
Langza (14,500 ft/4,420): situated at a whopping height of about 14,500 ft. above sea level and also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road.
Hikkim (14,570ft/4,440mts/): one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India and housing the highest post office in the world.
Komik Village (15,049fts/4589mts: which is Asia's highest Village Komic village is a very beautiful place and a heaven for nature and peace lovers.
Day 09: Kaza to Chandratal Lake via Kunzum La | Explore Glistening Lake that Changes Colours Throughout the Day: (100Kms-4->5Hrs)
Begin early and drive towards the iconic Kunzum La Pass (4,551 m), enjoying magnificent Himalayan views. A short diversion before Batal will lead you to the magical Chandratal Lake, known for its crescent shape and ever-changing colours.Check into your campsite near the lake. Witness a dazzling night sky—one of the best in India—ideal for star gazing and, if lucky, glimpses of the Milky Way. Overnight stay in tents (temperature at night may go down to 0 to 5 degrees.
Kunzum La pass: Navigate through the challenging yet rewarding Kunzum La pass, (4,551mts/14,930), relishing the panoramic views of towering peaks.
Chandratal Lake: The lake is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. It is overlooked by the mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After the sunset, the lake glitters under the starlit sky adding to its overall charm. Marvel at the changing colors of the Chandratal Lake throughout the day. If you are lucky enough, you can also catch the sight of the milky way galaxy.
Day 10: Chandratal Lake to Manali via Atal Tunnel | Witness Spellbinding Views of Geypan Peaks -> (120 Kms 4-5 Hrs)
After breakfast, leave from Chandratal and drive towards Manali, passing through the stunning landscapes of Lahaul, Sissu, and the impressive Atal Tunnel. On arrival in Manali, check into your hotel. In the evening, you will be free to explore Mall Road or visit the famous Hadimba Devi Temple. Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 11: Manali to Chandigarh | Bid Farewell to the Mountains 280Kms-> 7-8 Hrs (Departure)
Depart early in the morning for Chandigarh to board the 3 Ac Train in the evening.
Day 12: Arrive Sabarmati (BG) in the morning. Hold on to as many beautiful memories as you can in your heart.
Please Carry: Comfortable clothes, night dress, cap, thermals, sweater, jacket, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, woollen cap, woollen socks, leather gloves, sunglasses, water bottle, power bank, daypack, folding umbrella, Sun glasses, and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.
All the Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

At Anala Outdoors, we are committed to providing high-quality, well-organised nature camps, adventure tours, and educational travel experiences. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally lead to changes in travel plans. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair and transparent, while also accounting for logistical and third-party vendor commitments.

The booking is non-transferable. Substituting one participant with another is not allowed under any circumstances.
4. TRAVEL MODE
The mode of travel for the programme is planned in advance based on group size, destination, and logistical convenience. However, it is subject to change based on operational feasibility and availability.
In the event that the travel mode is upgraded due to unforeseen circumstances—such as train cancellations, railway strikes, public agitations, or any other unavoidable disruptions—revised arrangements will be made to ensure continuity of the programme. In such cases, the difference in cost arising from the upgraded or changed mode (e.g., from train to flight or 3 AC to 2 AC) shall be borne by the participant and must be paid at our office prior to the commencement of the revised journey.
All participants are required to carry a valid original government-approved photo ID (such as Aadhar Card, Passport, or PAN Card). School ID cards are not considered valid government photo IDs. Failure to carry a valid ID may result in:

5. ACTIVITY DISRUPTION CLAUSE
In the event that any camp activity/sightseeing point is cancelled or rescheduled due to weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain, storms, or landslides), local restrictions, or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, no refund or compensation shall be provided for the affected activity. The decision to cancel or proceed with any activity will be solely at the discretion of Anala Outdoors Pvt. Ltd.
6. BALANCE PAYMENT
Failure to complete the balance payment at least one month prior to the departure date will result in automatic cancellation of the booking. In such cases, applicable cancellation charges will be applied as per the terms outlined in the cancellation policy.
7. FORCE MAJEURE CLAUSE
Anala Outdoors shall not be liable for cancellations, modifications, or curtailments due to Force Majeure—events beyond our reasonable control—including but not limited to:
8. PERVEIVED RISK OR FEAR-BASED CANCELLATIONS
In the absence of an official travel advisory or restriction issued by the Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs, or other competent authorities, any cancellation prompted by fear of unrest, war, or perceived political tension, epidemic or pandemic or any other unforeseen circumstances, will be treated as a voluntary cancellation and subject to standard cancellation charges. The decision to cancel or proceed with any programme will be solely at the discretion of Anala Outdoors Pvt. Ltd.
9. REFUND MODE
All refunds will be made through bank transfer or crossed cheque, even if the original payment was made in cash and will be processed within 15 working days from the date of receiving a valid cancellation request.
10. IMPORTANT NOTE
All bookings involve advance payments towards transport, accommodation, food, instructors and local arrangements. We urge participants and guardians to understand that sudden cancellations result in significant unrecoverable expenses. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
